Important WPSBC COVID-19 Update

Dear School Community,

Due to current and projected COVID-19 rates remaining in the substantial range throughout

the Commonwealth, WPSBC will continue remote instruction following the holiday break,

with a plan to reopen campus on January 25, 2021.

We continue to rely on public health data, the advice of medical experts and our school’s

comprehensive Health and Safety plan to determine when it is safe to return to on-campus

instruction.

We will hold a Parent Q&A during the week of January 1, 2021, featuring Dr. Flores-Noel. A

Zoom invitation will follow via Remind.

It is our hope that COVID-19 rates trend back into the Moderate Level of community

spread by mid-January, at which time we will communicate a detailed plan for return. In the

meantime, for the latest COVID-19 tracking data in Pennsylvania, please visit: COVID-19 Early

Warning Monitoring System Dashboard .

As we prepare for the holiday season, please consider the CDC guidance on holiday

celebrations. We encourage you to remain diligent in mask-wearing, social distancing and

handwashing particularly throughout the holiday season. While the holidays will surely be

different this year, we encourage you to strengthen your efforts to help mitigate the spread

of COVID-19.

I wish you a happy, healthy holiday season as we look forward to better days in the new

year.

Sincerely,

Dr. Heidi Ondek

Executive Director and Superintendent
