Community Resources

Our School community extends far beyond our facilities. Just as others in the region have supported our School throughout the year, we are also committed to being a resource to the community at large, including other educators and service providers of students with visual impairment.

Here, we provide useful information about visual impairment, our School and its offerings, how to support or volunteer at WPSBC and other related resources.

The Professional Library

The Professional Library is a resource center that includes copies of special education journals, magazines, books and other multi-media resources regarding visual impairments and the educational and therapeutic needs of children with complex challenges. Maintained to allow our staff access to a highly specialized collection of materials and computer resources, our Professional Library can be used as a resource for educators who work with students with blindness or visual impairments.

Our virtual Lending Library makes the process of borrowing items as easy as possible, so please take a few moments to browse the materials available to enhance your professional development. Professional journals are available to view on campus.

When you first enter the virtual library, you will be asked to register. Please be aware that all items are loaned for up to three weeks, at which time you will need to return the items or contact us to renew the loan of the items for an additional two-week period.

For any questions regarding the Professional Lending Library, please contact Lynn Fox at 412-621-0100 ext. 1390 or email [email protected].
