Bridging Perceptions: A Collaborative Art & Sound Exhibit
Date: July 12, 2025
Time: 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: The Studio at Andrew Carnegie Library | 300 Beechwood Ave, Carnegie, PA
About the Exhibit
Our students at WPSBC are creating something truly special. As part of a unique art collaboration with the DePaul School for Hearing & Speech, student artists from WPSBC are bringing sound to life by crafting rain sticks, wind chimes, ocean drums and more using repurposed materials. These immersive soundscapes were designed to accompany the visual art, inspired by lighthouses, made by the students at DePaul.

This inspirational exhibit recognizes the creativity, communication and collaboration between both schools. Together, these young artists explore how sound, texture and visual art can become shared languages, building bridges between communities.
Why Lighthouses?
A lighthouse is more than a structure; it’s a symbol.
- Just as a lighthouse communicates through light, our student artists express themselves beyond traditional senses.
- A lighthouse breaks through fog and distance, just as art bridges gaps in communication and connectivity.
- Lighthouses symbolize independence and resilience, a quiet, constant force standing firm against isolation.
- Each lighthouse represents a student’s voice, guiding them and lighting up their path forward.
