KDKA shared the news that the Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children (WPSBC) partnered with Integrated Health 21, a Pittsburgh-based health management company, to provide school employees with the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine.
As advised by the Allegheny County Health Department (ACHD) WPSBC is extending the school closure. The updated plan is for residential students to return on Monday, February 15th with classes to resume on campus on Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
Please see the message below from Dr. Heidi Ondek regarding the events that took place at our Nation’s Capitol on Wednesday of this week.
Due to current and projected COVID-19 rates remaining in the substantial range throughout the Commonwealth, WPSBC will continue remote instruction following the holiday break, with a plan to reopen campus on January 25, 2021.
Given the current and projected COVID-19 rates throughout the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at this time, WPSBC will continue remote instruction through the month of December, with a plan to reopen campus on January 4, 2021. This applies to all programs, including Outreach, LAVI Adult Program and A Child's VIEW.
