More Ways to Give

Regardless of which way you choose to give, your gift will make a tangible impact on the students of WPSBC by helping to fund essential resources that prepare our students for greater independence and a fulfilling future. Your support increases their potential!

Gifts of cash, check or money order payable to WPSBC Foundation can be mailed to:

Western Pennsylvania School for Blind Children Foundation

Make a secure gift online by using a credit card, bank transfer, PayPal, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. You’ll receive an immediate confirmation of receipt of your gift.

Setting up a monthly or quarterly recurring donation helps ensure our students receive quality education and compassionate care and support every day. This way of giving benefits both you and WPSBC allowing you to spread your support across the year while providing the School with a steady, reliable source of funding.

With a simple one-time set-up you can conveniently provide an automatic recurring gift. Visit our donation page to learn more and set up your recurring gift today!

Many corporations have matching gift programs that will match charitable donations given by their employees to our school. Check with your employer to see if they provide a match that could double your contribution!

Gifts can be made in honor or memory of a special person in your life. Celebrate an important occasion such as a birthday or anniversary, or simply to recognize someone special. Make a gift in memory of a loved one who has passed away as a meaningful way to remember them while helping children in need.

If we are provided with the name and address, a notification of your gift will be sent to the person/family you designate. (The amount will remain confidential).

You can support our mission with your own fundraiser as an individual or as part of a group! Proceeds received through these types of events are especially meaningful, as they reflect your belief in our mission and your commitment to supporting our students through your own initiatives.

Here are some examples of ways that you can make a difference!

  • Personal campaigns on social media platforms like Facebook
  • Organizing events such as a run or walk-a-thon
  • Hosting a car wash
  • Selling items at community events such as handmade or baked goods
  • Special Occasion Gifts - encourage your friends and family to give in honor of your special occasion such as:
      • Anniversaries
      • Birthdays
      • Graduations
      • Holidays
      • Showers
      • Weddings

These fundraising activities not only support important causes but also foster a sense of community and collaboration.

When you open a Donor Advised Fund (DAF) you are creating a separate entity with the sole purpose of using the assets to support qualified charities. Making a gift through your DAF is an easy way to support our mission. This option provides an immediate tax benefit and allows you to recommend grant funds to support WPSBC by contacting the financial institution or foundation that manages your DAF.

Many of our donors give through their place of employment. If your workplace participates in an annual corporate giving campaign or through the United Way, you can make a gift to WPSBC through a simple payroll deduction. Contact your company's payroll office for additional details.

WPSBC's registered number for the United Way Campaign is #305.

We are grateful for the thoughtful donors who consider WPSBC when making in-kind gifts. Before bringing any items to the School, we kindly ask that you first reach out to confirm that we currently have a need for the item(s) you wish to give. Please contact our team to inquire and discuss any questions you may have. We strive to assure our donors that their contributions will be put to meaningful use before accepting them.

Giving a gift of stock is a great way to support WPSBC’s mission while also benefitting you. By donating appreciated stock directly, you can make a meaningful contribution without impacting your day-to-day cash flow. Plus, you may avoid capital gains tax on the stock's appreciated value, which can save you significant tax dollars.

You’ll also likely be eligible for a charitable deduction for the full market value of the stock at the time of the gift, maximizing both your tax benefits and the impact of your support.
